support of Alan Smith (ex-England senior
Football team Physiotherapist 1994 to
2002). Alan has donated essential
equipment to the Club and has freely
given his time to help raise funds for the
Club. He officially opened our Football
Gala Day in 2006.
Saltburn Athletic FC was formed in 1998. The
Club was initially organised as a community project. The purpose
of which was to not only provide football for local youngsters
but to provide a means through sport to channel their energy in
to worthwhile pursuits rather than negative pastimes.
Three teams currently compete in the Teesside Junior Football
Alliance. They are Under 13s, 14's and 15's
who were formed in 2006 and joined the Club for the start of the
2006/07 season. Home games are played at Huntcliff School,
Marske Mill Lane, Saltburn. We are constantly looking for new
players to strengthen the squads and details of contact numbers
can be found on this Web site.
The Club is run by a Committee of volunteers and each team has
at least two Coaches who have gained Level 1 Coaching
Certificates through the North Riding FA. All members of the
Coaching team form part of the Committee and all of the
Committee members have been Police checked via the Criminal
Records Bureau (CRB) giving them clearance to work with
children.
Having achieved Charter
Status the
Club has demonstrated that it follows the procedures and good practises laid down by The
Football Association (FA) in order to safeguard the interests
and welfare of the players as well as providing a safe
environment in which children can enjoy their football.
