UNDER 14s
Sunday 29th March 2009 was the day that Saltburn Athletic Under 14`s made history when they became the first team to win a Divisional title in Saltburn Athletic’s
11 year history. The away match at Thirsk was a game they
knew they had to win to secure the TJFA Divison 4 Title. The team were cruising
with a 3-0 lead and after easing off the game ended in a 5-2 victory for
Saltburn with goals from Josh Axe (2),
The win at Thirsk was followed up by another victory away to Middleton Rangers. Two goals in each half gave Saltburn a comfortable 4-0 victory with goals from Josh Axe, Elliott Graham, Alex Whiley and Luke Waller. There was a welcome return to the squad for Luke Waller who has missed most of the season due to ankle injuries and to fractures of both wrists.

UNDER 13`s
Due to yet more postponements and the Easter break we have only managed to play one match since last month’s article. We played a home match against Teesside Athletic `B` on the 29th.We started well and were soon 1-0 up with a goal from Ben Jacques. Teesside then laid siege to our goal and were deservedly 2-1 in the lead by half time. The second half was a completely different game with seven goals coming from Andy Turton (5) and one apiece from Robert Ellison and Ollie Cook. The final score was 8-2 to Saltburn. We now have three matches left to play and need five points from those games to be promoted. Hopefully next month’s article will contain some good news about this.
