New Marske (Away) 2-0

This was an evening kick off against local rivals New Marske away from home and a great deal of pride to play for.

Straight from the kick off it was obvious that no quarter would be given as both sides went for broke. Strong but fair tackles were made and only a few half chances were being created. It was a pleasant evening and we were being entertained by both teams to some good football. Eventually it was Saltburn who went ahead when Clark finished off a move to the delight of the Saltburn fans. The half time score being 1-0.

The second half was the same as the first as New Marske tried desperately to equalise but couldn't finish off the odd chance that came their way. Saltburn also had chances but were unable to convert. Most chances were only half chances for both sides as defences were determined to keep the strikers at bay. As the game neared its end it was Saltburn who scored when Waller bundled the ball into the net to give the team the final score line of 2-0. This was an end to end game well refereed by Jarvis who allowed the game to flow but was firm when required. A good game to watch for the fans and well done to Saltburn and New Marske for making this an advert for grass roots football.

Man of the match was shared between Walters the keeper and right back Axe.
