SALTBURN ROCK TOP

Leven came with impressive form that has put them top of the league and dominated the opening proceedings llike a side full of confidence forcing Saltburn on the back foot, winning several corners which were driven in dangerously and led to the inevitable opening goal.
Saltburn meanwhile with an up and down season, wanted to end it on a high and despite the early setback began to soak up the pressure, clear their lines and gain in stature from some good attacking football. Feisty Man of the Match Craig Hadden played a lovely ball over the top, picked up by the pacey Isaac Gallon who was able to finish coolly past the Leven keeper.
The second half saw Saltburn dominate proceedings with several man of the match performances. The marauding Oliver Moore in midfield was rewarded with a headed goal after Leven failed to clear a dangerous in swinging corner. Jonathon Oliver won the crucial encounters in midfield and the back four of Ingleby, Blair, Foster and Dalton halted any Leven attack with ‘safe hands’ Lewis Parkin alert to anything within his 18 yard box.
Sub Jamie Ellison scored a goal of the season contender to make it 3-1 with a half volley from 18 yards that was only going one place when it left his foot and Isaac Gallon made it 4 with an in-swinging corner that fooled everyone.
Leven will live to fight another day and Saltburn can’t wait for next season!!!
