Both teams started lively with keepers making crucial saves at both ends, Lewis Parkin of Saltburn tipping over spectacularly a 20 yard shot from Teesside.
It was Saltburn, with the breeze behind them who had most chances but Teesside defended resolutely. Saltburn missed a penalty in the 25th minute and it was down to the industrious midfielder Jamie Forrest to finally make the pressure pay, picking the ball up on the right and despite the chasing defender running 40 yards and shooting past the keeper to take the lead.
Teesside as expected came out to redress the balance but despite possession were unable to break down the Saltburn defence of Dalton, Foster, Ingleby and man of the match Jed Blair who made two crucial tackles inside the box. Despite playing into the wind Saltburn did manage to get the ball forward, beating Teesside for pace and it was a run from striker Craig Hadden which resulted in the second Saltburn goal and 3 points to continue their climb up the table.
