Stokesley started the stronger team and put Saltburn under some considerable pressure with runs from midfield keeping the Saltburn keeper busy and forcing some early corners. This lively start was rewarded with a well taken goal from lively midfielder Chris Thorogood. This was the wake up call Saltburn needed and once Jamie Forrest had equalised latching onto a cross from Isaac Gallon who broke down the left, Saltburn began to dominate proceedings and were rewarded with a well taken goal by the marauding Jonny Oliver to go into the break 2-1 up.
The second half saw some good end to end football, both teams creating chances, and Stokesley were worth their equalizer mid way through the half with Chris Thorogood again taking advantage of Saltburn hesitancy and breaking through to finish with aplomb. Both teams went looking for a winner, keepers at either end making saves, defences been stretched and midfielders 'scrapping ' for chances but in the end 2-2 was a fair result.
