| 30/09/2007 | SAFC v Guisborough Town | After conceding an early goal again we held our own playing uphill until a second goal just before half time. in the second half we went 3-0 down before pulling one back through a corner converted by Luke Cartwright before conceding a long range goal from a free kick. ten out of ten for effort |
| 21/10/2007 | SAFC v Mount Pleasent Rangers | After both teams observed a minutes silence in respect for the local professional killed in a car accident the game kicked off on a lovely sunny day. We fell behind to a good goal halfway through and started to lose our composure a little before going in at halftime 3-0 down. Then came perhaps the best second half performance from this group of lads as we pulled one back before leaking another to be 4-1 down. then the fight back began and after getting back to 4-3 and battering their goal and defence we couldn't just get the equaliser after some good opportunities. Nevertheless a more spirited and much improved performance. |
| 18/11/2007 | SAFC v Guisborough Town |
In a game played in a wind chill temp of probably -5 a lot of
the kids on both sides suffered but Saltburn played superbly and
bravely against the wind in the first half to keep Guisborough
out and indeed we took the lead with Sam netting at his second
opportunity ( he got a bit of stick for missing his first shot!)
to lead one nil at half time. we thought with the wind in the
second half our first win would finally arrive and if it wasn't
for a great save by their keeper from a great little back header
from Matty we would of been two up, but unfortunately with our
lads tiring after giving 120% we conceded an equaliser and then
a cruel second with minutes left. we had heroes everywhere and
that is not over doing this report. mom was the entire squad-
our first win is very close.
